Community Events

The purpose of the Healthy Eating Series is to educate the community about the nutritional value of the local produce found at the farmers market, and how to incorporate these foods into their daily diet. These events are FREE.

Each Healthy Eating Talk will include:

• Nutrition information and simple recipes highlighting foods from the market
• The benefits of purchasing locally grown food and the importance of supporting local agriculture
• Getting kids involved in the experience so they understand that real people grow our food
• Getting to know the farmers that grow and produce our food and the fulfillment that brings
• How eating locally saves money, AND keeps money in the local community
• Supporting local farms is creating a healthy community and preserving family farms

• 9/20 — Healthy Baby Food from the Farm
• 9/27 — Celebrate the Harvest with Healthy Soups and Stews
• 10/4 — Delicious Healthy Desserts from the Farm

These classes take place at 11:00am at the Kingston Farmers Market on Wall Street in Kingston.

Past classes include: The Incredible Egg, Simple Suppers for Busy People, Bone Health, Natural Sweets from the Farm and Eating for Energy.
