Wise Women Rising- A Menopause Gathering

Join us in person Kingston, NY Saturday, April 19th 2:00-4:00pm
OR
Join us on zoom Thursday, April 24th 7:00-8:30pm
Every woman’s menopause experience is personal. In addition to all of the profound physical and emotional changes, this is a potent and sacred time for us.
If we’re caught up and feeling frustrated with all of the symptoms, it can be challenging to see the gifts and messages of this pivotal time.
Many women suffer in silence with the sudden changes in our bodies.
We don’t feel like ourselves.
Weight gain, hot flashes, mood swings, anxiety, depression, sleep issues, anger, body aches, digestive issues, vaginal dryness, brain fog, low energy, changes in libido (and so much more) can throw us into a tailspin of feelings. This is not something to be endured.
There is so much we can do to support ourselves.
Unfortunately, many doctors including female GYN’s are uninformed about menopause, and the many important ways to we can be supporting our bodies and minds now. Did you know that many GYN’s had less than 4 hours of training about menopause in medical school? I did not know that until I started my own menopause journey and tried for a very long time to find out what on earth was happening to me.
Once our cycle stops for a full year we are in menopause and remain in menopause for the rest of our lives. It’s not an experience that we go through and it’s over. This is a misconception. Changes continue to evolve and emerge as we move into different seasons of our lives.
Let’s come together to connect as women. Let’s share our stories. In addition to all of the profound changes, this is a potent and sacred time for us. But if we’re caught up and frustrated with all of the symptoms, it’s challenging to see the gifts and messages of this time.
I’m honored to be your guide. Join me in sisterhood and learn about what’s happening in your body and how to care for yourself. When women gather, magic happens.

Book Club- How to Menopause

Mother Earth’s Cafe, Kingston, NY
Tuesday, April 22 5:30 dinner and shop, 6:30- 8:00 discussion and connection.
The conversation continues May 6 + 20, June 3 + 17
Join me for our book club! Our first title is the new and wonderful book called “How to Menopause” by Tamsen Fadal. This is the book I wish I had when I went into menopause. I felt so lost. I wanted to understand what was happening in my body (and my mind!). I felt so alone in it. Thankfully, there’s a menopause revolution going on. Can you believe how little it’s discussed? Not anymore!
Hot off the press, How to Menopause just came out last week and it’s the book we all need- to understand perimenopause into menopause and beyond. What I love about it is that it’s written by a journalist who interviewed 42 doctors. It is PACKED with important information and is easy to digest and understand, like you’re sitting with your girlfriends.
I have all of the menopause books- written by doctors and neuroscientists and they’re great. This book brings it all together in a way that’s easy to understand.
Tamsen is the writer and visionary of the M Factor documentary. She, like all of us has her menopause story. Join me and let’s read and talk about it together. One of the things that can be difficult is feeling alone in your menopause journey. SO much is changing within us and we need to be in sisterhood. Purchase your book here or get it from your local library.
We will meet in the cafe at Mother Earth’s Storehouse in Kingston, NY. Come for dinner and connection at the cafe at 5:00.
You’ll receive a 15% savings coupon on all grocery and cafe purchases (except sale items).
Book discussion will begin at 6:30 after we eat and shop. $15 payable to Holly when you arrive.

What people are saying:
“Holly’s group cooking classes are more fun than you can imagine.  In addition to the food being delicious, Holly creates a wonderful feeling of community. The classes are an opportunity for me to feel connected even though we are all in our own kitchens- and it inspires me to push my creativity.
The classes are great for the novice as well as the more experienced cook.  I have attended quite a few of them and always come away with some new, fresh recipes, renewed enthusiasm and a quiet confidence to take back to my own kitchen to create an inspired meal.”

Beth, NJ
“I was always intimidated to cook for people- but Holly’s class taught me that cooking can really be fun! Thanks for showing me the joy in cooking!” Nancy, Woodstock
“As someone who knew very little about nutrition, and even less about how to navigate my way around a kitchen, I was completely blown away by the ease with which you were able to make me and the other chefs in disguise so comfortable. My biggest fear was feeling that the food I cooked would somehow not be edible. How wrong I was! Using the absolute finest of organic ingredients and preparing them in a simple, loving, and delicious way was a revelation. I now have the confidence to make healthy meals that not only taste good but also give me a true sense of accomplishment- thanks to your patient, professional guidance.” Bruce, Hawaii
“Super fun, delicious food and I learned so much. I’ve already registered for another class. I’m excited to make these recipes at home” RB
